dear Mehul, somehow i didn't like the line that follows as answer, although you have labored to bring in matching rhythm and rhyme.

ask yourself again, and you will feel instantly embarrassed, humiliated, indignant and ultimately desperate and dejected rather than the sense of mere physical pain and fatigue conveyed through your line :

you have made the sense of pain more physical whereas it actually hurts more in your heart and mind.

that is why i say poetry is not all rhythm and rhyme, it has to be truthful and meaningful too. dalit poet has to keep in mind that the painful message must have precedence over craft or art. otherwise a beautiful poem like this will have limited utility and appeal.

  5. i am sorry i have to enter in the box again.

now that your role as an over-zealous writer is over, read your following line now as a cool and objective reader :

except for your joy of finding the right rhyme in the words -'passion 'and 'fashion'
( and such rhyming exercise is considered as the best poetic talent in the mainstream art of versification), i don't think the words are at all fitting in the context.

are you sure it is only the 'fashion' that people ask one's surname and is it really the 'passion'? no. it is not 'fashion' to ask for one's caste but it is the need of the person to know tour surname so that he can feel comfortable in his social intercourse with you - either keeping distance with you if you are from a lower caste or mingling with you if you are upper caste. it is not 'passion' but their social need to distinguish and prejudice to discriminate you.

since you are a very promising poet, i have to tell you that a good collection of rhymes doesn't necessarily make good poetry. good poetry must not necessarily be entertaining with this kind of artificial decoration. it has to be first and foremost true and meaningful; and the role of such rhyming and rhythm is ancillary in making it more appealing aesthetically.
